Mobile Paint Correction in Charlotte

If your paint looks hazy or covered in spiderwebs in the sun, wax won't fix it. Polishing will.

What is paint correction?

Look at your car in direct sun. If the paint is covered in fine circles, spiderwebs, or a dull haze, those are swirl marks and light scratches sitting in the clear coat. Most come from automatic car washes, dirty towels, and years of normal washing.

Wax and glazes can hide them for a few weeks, but they come right back. Paint correction actually removes them. We use a machine polisher to take off a microscopic layer of clear coat and level the defects out, which is what brings back real depth, gloss, and clarity. It shows most on black and other dark colors.

Not every scratch can come out safely. If a scratch catches your fingernail, it may be through the clear coat, and chasing it could thin the paint too much. We'll tell you what can realistically come out before we start.

It's all done at your home with a garage or shaded spot. No dropping your car at a shop for days.

Our mobile paint correction process

Most of the time goes into prep and polishing. Rushing it is how paint gets damaged.

  1. Wash and decontaminate

A full hand wash, then iron remover and clay bar so the paint is completely clean before polishing.

  2. Inspect

We look over every panel under bright lights to see exactly what we're dealing with.

  3. Tape off

Trim, rubber, and sensitive edges get taped so polish doesn't stain or burn them.

  4. Compound

A machine polisher and compound cut out the swirls and light scratches.

  5. Polish

A finer polish clears up the haze from compounding and brings out full gloss.

  6. Wipe and protect

A panel wipe shows the true results, then we apply protection so it lasts.

What paint correction can and can't fix

Knowing the limits up front means no surprises when we're done.

What it fixes

  • Swirl marks and spiderwebs from car washes
  • Light scratches that don't catch a fingernail
  • Water spots etched into the clear coat
  • Dull, hazy, or oxidized paint
  • Buffer trails and holograms from a bad polish job

What it can't fix

  • Scratches deep enough to catch a fingernail
  • Rock chips and door dings
  • Peeling or failing clear coat, which needs a repaint
  • Paint that has already been polished too thin

Mobile paint correction questions

Will paint correction remove every scratch?

Not always. If a scratch catches your fingernail, it may be through the clear coat. We'll tell you what can realistically come out before we start.

How long does paint correction take?

Usually most of a day, sometimes more for heavy correction or bigger vehicles. We'll need a garage or a shaded spot to work.

What's the difference between wax and paint correction?

Wax fills in light swirls so they're harder to see, and it washes away in a few months. Paint correction actually removes the swirls by polishing them out of the clear coat.

Does a new car need paint correction?

Often, yes. New cars get washed, moved, and handled a lot before you ever drive them, and many leave the lot with swirls already in the paint.

Does paint color matter?

The process is the same, but black and dark colors show every swirl in the sun, so they benefit the most. White and silver hide a lot of defects.

Should I get a ceramic coating after?

It's the best time to do it. The paint is as clean and smooth as it's going to get, so the coating locks that in.

How often does my car need it?

Not often. Your clear coat is thin and every correction removes a little, so it's not something to do every year. With proper hand washing, the results last for years.

How do I keep my paint from swirling again?

Skip the brush car washes and use clean mitts and drying towels. A regular hand wash keeps the finish looking right.

Do you need water or power?

No. We bring our own water and power. We do need a garage or shaded spot, since polishing in direct sun doesn't give good results.

Do you come to me?

Yes. We're fully mobile and bring our own water and power, so we come to your home, office, or apartment lot anywhere around Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, Rock Hill, Huntersville, Kannapolis, Mooresville, Indian Trail, Monroe, Fort Mill, Cornelius, Matthews, and Mint Hill. See all our service areas.

Can I pair this with another service?

Yes, and bundling saves you money. Most people pair it with a Ceramic Coating, but it also goes well with Full Interior Detail, Mini Interior Detail, Premium Wash, Wash and Wax, Engine Cleaning, Paint Overspray Removal, and Headlight Restoration. Book two or more services together and we'll take some off the total.
